HI, I owned a 86 450 rebel bought it new and did like it but it does not compare with the savage at all.nice looking and reliable but the thing i disliked the most was when going uphill it actually slowed down.And the new 250's are just way too small.Go with the savage,you may not even outgrow it.i've got my 96 savage 3 yrs now,and still nothing out there appeals to me more ive always loved singles! giro
